As we move further into 2026, I am pleased to share the results of the Edison Public Library Board of Trustees’ annual reorganization meeting, which was held on January 13. This meeting is more than just a procedural requirement; it is a moment where we solidify the leadership that will guide our library’s vision and strategic goals for the coming year.
The elected officers for the 2026 Board of Trustees are:
- President: Anthony DePasquale
- Vice President: Rinki Singh
- Treasurer: Shreyans Patel
- Secretary: Pallavi Kabadi
We are also excited to welcome the newest voices to our Board: Chang-Hui Shen will be instrumental as we look toward the next decade of service, and Shilvanti Patel joins our returning trustees in overseeing the policies and budgeting that keep our Library running smoothly. Also serving your Library this year are Catriona Leary (Mayor’s Alternate) and Ralph Errico (Superintendent of Schools Alternate).
Each trustee plays an important role in the stewardship of our branches and our two new members bring fresh perspectives and a shared commitment to the Edison Public Library’s mission. These dedicated individuals volunteer their time and expertise, and their leadership is vital as we continue to implement our Strategic Plan, which has been extended through December 31, 2026.
Beyond electing officers, the Board also established its 2026 Meeting schedule. These meetings are open to the public, and I encourage everyone to attend and learn more about the inner workings of the Library.
Our next meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 10, at 7:00pm at the Main Library.
Staying Safe and Informed This Winter
As we navigate the unpredictable winter season, the safety of our patrons and staff remains our top priority. In the event of inclement weather, the Edison Public Library system may experience delayed openings or full-day closures. We encourage you to check
our website and
Facebook page for the most up-to-date information before heading out. Even when our physical branches are closed, our digital collections—including
Libby,
Hoopla, and
Kanopy—are available 24/7 so you can enjoy books, movies, and more from the comfort and warmth of your home.
Hassle-Free Returns
To take the stress out of a snowy day, please remember that the Edison Public Library offers automatic renewals for most physical items. If your books or media are due on a day we are closed due to the weather, the system will automatically extend your due date—provided there are no existing holds on the item(s). You can always check your account status through our
Online Catalog or by using the STELLA app. Stay warm and keep reading!
See you in the stacks!
