Few genres are as uniquely American as the road trip story.
From Mark Twain to Jack Kerouac, these narratives capture journeys of discovery across unfamiliar landscapes, reflecting shifting eras of American life. Beyond literature, road trips hold a special place in collective memory—from family vacations to cross-country adventures.
Edison Public Library cardholders are invited to head out on a virtual road-trip with historian Dr. Allen Pietrobon on Monday, March 30. The 6:00pm program will focus on how road-tripping has shaped American history, culture, and identity from the 1800s to today.
This program is facilitated and made possible by Parker Health Group, Inc.
