Edison Public Library patrons interested in learning more about John, Paul, George, and Ringo are invited to join Liverpool native John Paul Groom at the Main Library on Monday, April 6 for a special program highlighting the history of The Beatles.
The Beatles were formed in 1960 and, just five years later, the band discovered their desire to continue writing boy-meets-girl pop singles was waning. Rubber Soul, released in 1965, was their first attempt to produce an album that wasn’t just a collection of singles, and this experiment would go on to change the trajectory of their career, and of music altogether.
During the 7:00pm The Beatles: Putting It All Together program, Groom, who attended the same high school as Paul McCarthy and George Harrison and the same Sunday school as John Lennon, will share his love for English rock band and discuss their history—from their creative revolution to their acrimonious break-up.
