Through the Edison Public Library’s partnership with the Library Speakers Consortium, cardholders can enjoy a variety of talks from bestselling authors and thought leaders and, this month, scheduled speakers include bestselling writers Marjan Kamali, Dr. Vivienne Ming, and Nir Eyal.
On Thursday, May 7, Kamali will delve into the timeless wonder of her novel, The Lion Women of Tehran during the On Courage, Turmoil, and the Transformative Power of Love program taking place at 7:00pm.
Then, on Tuesday, May 12, author and self-proclaimed ‘mad scientist’ Dr. Vivienne Ming will host the How to Robot-Proof Your Kids (and Yourself) program. The 2:00pm event will feature timely conversation on AI, humanity, and the next steps toward building a better future. Attendees will also have an opportunity to win a copy of Ming’s book, Robot-Proof.
Cardholders can join Nir Eyal, author of Hooked and Indistractable, at 2:00pm Tuesday, May 19 for the Reshape Your Belief and Unlock Your True Potential program. Eyal, whose work is grounded in neuroscience, psychology, and unforgettable case studies, will highlight how mastering the “Three Powers of Belief: Attention, Anticipation, and Agency” can help change the way one sees challenges, feels about the future, and acts when it matters most.
