Adult Edison Public Library patrons are invited to join Arlene Ferris-Waks, director of complaints and investor outreach for the New Jersey Bureau of Securities, on Friday, May 8 at 11:00am for the Basics of Cryptocurrency program.
The New Jersey Bureau of Securities, a unit of the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs which falls under the Office of the Attorney General, is charged with protecting investors from investment fraud, and regulating the securities industry in New Jersey. Through its investor education initiative, the bureau helps New Jersey residents become informed investors and promotes financial literacy.
During the upcoming program, taking place at the Main Library, Ferris-Waks will provide an overview of digital assets to familiarize investors with terminology, aspects of investing, and a discussion of cryptocurrency fraud and scams. Registration is recommended but not required.
