The Main Library will serve as the host site for two upcoming workshops designed to help guide Edison residents on their career paths.
On Saturday, May 16 at 11:00am, high school students are invited to attend Create. Plan. Profit: A Hands-On Workshop for Teen Entrepreneurs.
Led by SCORE Central Jersey, this workshop will introduce teens to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship in an engaging, hands-on format and, over the course of the 2.5-hour session, students with a business idea—whether it’s a product, service, or side hustle—will learn how to evaluate and develop their concept using a simplified one-page business plan. Registration is required and participation is limited to 16 attendees with a minimum of eight required.
Then, on Tuesday, May 19 at 6:30pm, adult patrons are invited to learn how to use AI thoughtfully and effectively in their job search while staying human.
During the hands-on AI and the Job Search: Keep Your Human Edge workshop, Heather Dalal, MLIS, MEd, a librarian and educator, will explore practical ways AI can support resumes, job search, and interview preparation while helping participants evaluate information and avoid common pitfalls. Registration is suggested but not required and all attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop or tablet.
