The North Edison Temporary Branch will celebrate storytelling, resilience, and global journeys with two New Jersey authors during the Stories Across Borders program taking place on Wednesday, May 27 at 6:30pm.
Ruchika Gaba Vasishta, a poet and storyteller, will discuss her book Abode Abroad: A Collection of Inspirational Life Journeys. Her work explores the complexities of migration, resilience, and self-discovery and, Abode Abroad brings together the voices of 20 Indian women who have built new lives across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Dr. Suresh U. Kumar, a professor and entrepreneur, will discuss his debut novel The Girl in Scarlet Hijab. An Amazon bestseller, this historical fiction set in 1980s India explores themes of courage, love, and sacrifice while delivering a powerful and universal message.
Together, these authors offer unique perspectives on crossing cultures, pursuing dreams, and finding one’s voice through storytelling. They will also share insights into their writing journeys, inspirations, and paths to publication.
Whether you're drawn to personal narratives, historical fiction, or global perspectives, this author event, open to adult and teen patrons, promises an engaging and meaningful conversation.
