With long, blues-drenched melodic lines, and a fat, warm, horn-like sound, guitarist, and composer Bob DeVos has his own signature style and, on Saturday, June 6, Edison Public Library patrons can experience his modern sound with strong traditional roots.
Backed by organist Roberta Piket and drummer Steve Johns, DeVos will perform at the North Edison Temporary Branch at 2:00pm.
DeVos has enjoyed over 50 years as an in-demand player and is known for his ‘full, liquid tone,’ ‘soulful, intelligent interpretations,’ and ‘superb, modern compositional skills.’ Over the course of his career, DeVos has toured and recorded with jazz greats, including Trudy Pitts, Richard “Groove” Holmes and Sonny Stitt, Jimmy McGriff and Hank Crawford, and Charles “The Mighty Burner” Earland.
