Take a journey through time via the American songbook and the Garden State Trombone Quartet as the Edison Public Library celebrates its 2026 Summer Reading Program and the 250th anniversary of the United States.
On Sunday, June 21, Celebration Sounds Music Studio will present a musical journey through American history featuring selections from the Revolutionary War era to the 1980s. Taking place at the Main Library at 2:00pm, the repertoire will feature Civil War spirituals, Sousa marches, World War I and II favorites, and influential songs from the Vietnam era and beyond as well as such iconic works as “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “Shenandoah.”
Each musical selection reflects the era in which it was composed and conveys the spirit, struggles, and aspirations of the American people. With every note, the program celebrates the enduring power of music to unite generations, honor history, and inspire pride in the American story.
