In celebration of America 250, teens will have the opportunity to make red, white, and blue woven bookmarks during a Wednesday, July 8 program taking place at the Main Library.
During Colonial times, handspun yarn was a household necessity, primarily produced using wool from sheep, often on large wheels. It was used to create clothing and textiles, with fibers like wool requiring washing and carding before being spun into thread for weaving or knitting.
At the Patriotic Woven Bookmarks program, scheduled for 6:30pm, participants will use handspun yarn to craft one-of-a-kind pieces. All supplies will be provided and registration is required. |
