Patrons are invited to join us, and historian Joel Farkas, on Saturday, July 18 at 2:00pm in our reopened and renovated North Edison Branch for the Kings, Queens & Guillotines program.
Learn how two kings— George III and Louis XVI and two queens—Marie Antionette and the Queen of Hearts, played a role in the downfall of the French monarchy. The world would never be the same again and, during the 2:00pm program, Farkas will delve into how two countries—Britian and France ultimately led to two revolutions—American and French, and how one man, Napoleon, would be emperor, while another, George Washington, would not be king.
A historian who has delivered lectures at colleges and organizations throughout New Jersey, Farkas has served as a docent at the Morristown-based Washington's Headquarters for 8 years, and is a recipient of the National Park Service Centennial Volunteer Challenge Award.
