With the World Series right around the corner, there’s no better time to swing by the Edison Public Library and discuss baseball. That’s why we’ve invited author Eric C. Gray to the North Edison Branch on Tuesday, October 25. Mr. Gray will be discussing his latest book, Backyards to Ballparks: More Personal Baseball Stories from the Stands and Beyond.

Originally from Plainview, NY on Long Island, Mr. Gray is a graduate from SUNY New Paltz and spent much of his career working for the U.S. Department of Labor in San Francisco. His first book, Bases to Bleachers: A Collection of Personal Baseball Stories from the Stands and Beyond, was published in 2019 and consisted of a collection of personal essays from baseball fans about their love of the sport. His call for stories was so overwhelming that he was able to create a second volume, which eventually became Backyards to Ballparks.

Not a one-trick pony, Mr. Gray is also a fan of rock and roll and talking politics. His love of music has led him to create a similar book project surrounding music-related stories and concert experiences of his fans.

The Edison Public Library invites you to meet Mr. Gray and ask him questions about his writing process, discuss a shared love of music, or make predictions on who will win the World Series. The program begins at 7:00pm on Tuesday, October 25. You can register for the event here.
