Diwali may be over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still celebrate. Come into the Edison Public Library to learn about the Indian art of Rangoli!
What is Rangoli? It’s the traditional folk art of India that uses dots to create beautiful designs. Rangoli can be made from any medium, like markers, paints, or crayons, but artists can also use things like flower petals or lentils and beans.
The Edison Public Library has invited artist Sujata Amritkar to present a brief history of the dot art of Rangoli, then teach participants how to create simple Rangoli designs using a grid of dots. He’ll be making two visits to our branches, so sign up for the session that’s most convenient for you.
Some supplies will be provided but attendees are encouraged to bring their own, such as crayons, markers, glitter paint, and colored pencils.
