Overcoming an addiction is one of the hardest things a person can do, especially without support. That’s why the Edison Public Library is proud to host SMART Recovery onsite twice weekly. SMART = Self-Management and Recovery Training - a peer-support program that uses a self-empowering, 4-Point Program to help those struggling with substance use disorder to overcome their addiction and/or addictive behaviors. This meeting is also open to family or friends of those currently struggling. Rev. Holly Onorato facilitates the support group and helps participants to build and maintain the motivation to quit; cope with craving; manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; and live a balanced life. Meetings are held every Tuesday in the Main Library and Thursday in the North Edison Branch. No registration is required. Check out smartrecovery.org for more information and a complete list of meetings.
